What rotation does the eye use? |
|
The shortest rotation w from A to B tilts as much as G
(the gaze direction) The rotation w, with no tilt, is longer. The eye's rotation w tilts half way between the shortest and the longer. Thus during saccades, the eye is rotated about a sub-optimal axis |
